Rainy weather forecast cancels racing at Volunteer Speedway on Saturday, May 4 – rescheduled to Saturday, May 11
BULLS GAP, Tenn. – After monitoring the National Weather Service forecast throughout the day on Friday, and with rain predicted overnight into Saturday morning and then again through the afternoon and night hours, Volunteer Speedway operations manager Vic Hill has decided to cancel racing for Saturday, May 4.
The special “May The Fourth Be With You” racing program has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 11.
“I’ve monitored the National Weather Service forecast and it’s showing rain overnight Friday into Saturday morning, plus possible precipitation during the afternoon and night hours,” said Volunteer Speedway operations manager Vic Hill. “We live in a day and time where everyone has a cellphone and they’re constantly looking at weather forecasts. By what the NWS experts are saying, it’s going to rain. I’m canceling racing for Saturday, May 4 and rescheduling to Saturday, May 11.”
